 Sports Massage techniques that WORK

Brisbane, and in particular Windsor, Herston, Newstead and Newfarm are hotspots for state-of-the-art Bodybuilding, CrossFit and Powerlifting gyms, as well as health and fitness clubs and riverside running tracks. Being based in Windsor, our Therapists specialise in Sports Massage therapy for people who train and compete in Bodybuilding, CrossFit, Hyrox, Powerlifting, Ironman, Marathons and sports where the body is being pushed and aches and pains are part of the process.

Not everybody wants to break a world record though, and we use Sports Massage techniques every day in treatment for regular gym goers, office workers and everyday people with aches and pains.

What Is Sports Massage Good For?

Sports Massage can help increase the flow of blood and nutrients throughout the body to decrease soreness after training and reduce tightness to in muscles.

For people who perform any repetitive sports and activities, or work in a stationary position, it's expected to see an increase in tightness throughout the body in the areas that are most under stress.

Sports Massage helps to remove those tight spots and strains throughout the body to get back to training quicker and keep living pain-free.

Is Sports Massage painful?

All Staff at Axiom Performance Recovery are Qualified Remedial Massage therapists and have extensive experience treating a wide range of clients, all with different pain tolerance.

It is our job as a Remedial Massage Therapist to gauge your tolerance to pressure and treat appropriately. As the body comes under stress from pain, it will tighten up to resist the force against it, making the treatment less effective.

We use the appropriate amount of pressure to resolve any issues through the body. However, you may feel slight discomfort we will be in communication with you throughout your treatment to ensure you're as comfortable as possible.

How long will my Sports Massage treatment be?

At Axiom we offer 60 minute appointments for initial consultations. Our Sports Massage appointments are spaced with 10 minutes in between so that we can assess your body after the session and help you with any aftercare advice without cutting into your treatment time.

What Oil or Cream do you use?

Many Sports Massage Clinics use oil during treatments, however we use sorbolene as it doesn't leave you feeling sticky, doesn't stain clothing and is hypoallergenic.

Where can I park my car?

We have on-site parking at our Windsor, Brisbane clinic. Our reception will text you before your treatment with some extra instructions for local street parking as well.

How often should I book a Sports Massage?

Many of our Sports Massage clients tend to book in once every 4 weeks, on a training de-load week as part of a body maintenance and injury prevention strategy.

However, we can sometimes see clients once and they're not back for months after a successful treatment, with their pain and soreness resolved.

We are a very busy clinic so many of our clients ask to book in advance to make sure an appointment is locked for them in the future. Let your therapist know during your treatment if you'd like to make some future appointments, we'd love to help you!
